NEXT LEVEL DRIFT

To promote the handling capabilities of the #GT86, Toyota took things to a whole new level. And that level is...space. For this unique challenge, the Japanese automaker have turned to the "Norwegian Hammer" Fredric Aasbø, a Formula Drift World Champion, and his ride - the Icom Toyota Express Service 86-X, a competition version of the sports car that uses a stroked 3.4-litre 2JZ, massaged to sent around 850kw to the rear wheels. Toyota's goal was to create a giant 86 logo that could be seen from space! This would be created by carefully plotting out a route for Aasbo to drift through, leaving the tyre marks behind. It then took Toyota UK about 4 months of careful planning, much of it ensuring the Airbus controlled Pléaides satellite (circling in space, 800km above the earth) would be directly above the Millbrook proving ground in Bedfordshire, UK, to enable them to get a snap of the effort. And without further ado, here is the video! #TunedAutomotive #SomeShitAboutCars
