Nico Hulkenberg Replaces Lance Stroll for The Eiffel Grand Prix
In this article I will explain what this means for Nico's future.
Why Stroll Stepped down
Earlier today Lance Stroll said to the team that he did not feel 100% and that he thought he should sit out of free practice, qualifying and the race. With FP1 and FP2 being cancelled the drivers only have one practice session but since Stroll was not feeling 100% BWT Racing Point only ran one car in free practice with Perez.
Having already stepped in for Perez in the British GP and 70th anniversary GP he knows how the car feels but the Nurburgring is a different type of track to Silverstone and also Racing Point have brought upgrades to the car since. With FP1 and FP2 already cancelled and Hulkenberg getting a last minute call he had even less practice but got a little bit in since he was only an hour away. When it was time to qualify he qualified in P20, I think it was due to the difference in the track and the upgrades on the car.
