Nine of Top Gear's football Suzuki Swifts sold on eBay for a bargain

Who else remembers Argentina vs England using cars?

Top Gear's live shows from back in the day were a huge success. Not quite as popular as the show itself, but it still brought in many visitors who would sit and watch the trio do mad things.

One of these things Clarkson, Hammond, and May did during some of these live shows was play 'car football' which involved two teams using the same model of car to play football against one another. The trick was to handbrake turn into the ball to score a goal.

It has been a long time since we have seen these vehicles, but some of them have cropped up for sale on eBay and just sold for a reasonable price.

These nine vehicles were used in Top Gear's Argentina vs England football game and as you can see, were used pretty hard. All of these cars are covered in bumps and scrapes – especially Jeremy's which is missing its front bumper.

All nine cars sold for a total of £7,900 as the auction ended on September 20. We don't think that's all that bad for a bit of television history. They all start and drive but aren't road legal. We guess they're more for memorabilia purposes instead.
