NISMO Shames All Bodyshops By Fixing Crashed GT-R In Crazy Short Amount Of Time
Well oiled machine
Motorsport crews have to operate with a very high level of teamwork. Just take a look at pit crews as they coordinate a tire change, refuel, and body work change in a matter of seconds. That level of precision and cooperation also has to happen during major and time consuming efforts like mending a part failure.
The Nissan Motorsport (NISMO) team just displayed their well oiled team of engineers and mechanics at the latest Spa 24 hrs. The NISMO GT-R GT3 number 22 car suffered a puncture upon the entrance of Eau Rouge, which caused them to hit the tire wall at over 100 mph. This resulted in major front suspension damage as witnessed by the wrecked front clip and dislocated left wheel. Recognizing that they only had 41 hours before the actual race, the team got together and mended the busted GT-R, through the night, in a blistering twelve hours worth of wrenching.
The timelapse below shows just how well the team functioned together to bring the GT-R back to life, just in time for more practice runs in the morning. We can't imagine the amount of zip-ties that has gone into GT3 Godzilla to bring it back into shape.
Here's an interview with the team and the driver regarding that high speed crash at Eau Rouge

amazing effort
Having already rebuilt the Bathurst 12 hour car after its hit with the wall , we just had to !
they've replaced all the damaged parts not mend and repair them like they do in body shops.
Give enough monkeys enough tools spare parts garage equipment easy
jolyon Palmer's mechanics could do that in half the time
