Nissan Motorsport has claimed a pole position, a top five finish and three further top tens at Darwin's Hidden Valley Raceway in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.

Michael Caruso and Rick Kelly led the charge in their Nissan Altimas for the team, taking four top 10 finishes between them in the two races. Kelly finished sixth in the first race, Caruso 10th.

Kelly also scored pole position for the second race of the weekend, showing incredible one-lap pace in a shootout to claim the top spot on the grid.

The Nissan Altima driver converted his front-of-field start to a top-five finish for the team. Kelly's stablemate, Caruso, also scored a top 10 finish, bringing his machine home ninth.

"It was fantastic to grab the pole position, so you always leave a little disappointed when you start at the front and cross the line in 5th," Kelly said.

"The guys did an amazing job to give me a car that was capable of grabbing pole in the shootout, it was very comfortable and easy to execute all of that.

"Unfortunately, we did spend a bit too long in the pit lane with a few little things.

"It was a fantastic result to grab a 5th and a 6th, and to show we are capable of racing at the front."

Andre Heimgartner took two 16ths on the weekend, and Simona De Silvestro one 17th and one 22nd.

The next round for championship is scheduled for the Townsville street circuit on July 6-8.
