Nokia's 007 campaign is so unabashed you gotta respect it

Talk about shameless plugs

No Time to Die is scheduled for release a couple of months from now, which means we're being bombarded with trailers, teasers, images and, as it turns out, ads. It all began with Aston Martin and Omega, which have always more or less been part of the story, and it went on with Jaaaaaag, Sony Ericsson, Ford, a million more names and now Nokia.

This video was posted earlier today on James Bond 007 verified YouTube account and it features 00 agent Nomi, played by British actress Lashana Lynch, attempting to "securely transfer" images to MI6 and when asked "is the connection secure?", she says "it's a Nokia phone". Well, now.

  • Nokia still exists?

    • Yess, very much. Although the phones are built by HMD Global (ex-Nokia people) and they sell them under Nokia brand. Nokia exists as a company still, but they build networks, being one of the biggest competitors in 5G-market.

  • The last Nokia I had was the 7110 (the matrix phone which wasn’t the matrix phone). I remember being outside a cafe having a coffee with my mum when it rang, I took it out of my pocket pressed the button and ‘katshh’ the phone slid open and I heard this kid go “wow did you see that guys phone” and that’s the reason I bought it, because it looked cool as F
