Ten years after the rebirth of the Norton brand, the British company has decided to renew its production line by introducing a new supersport in the list.
Called Superlight Twin and presented at the Birmingham NEC, it is characterized by the twin-cylinder 650 cc engine coupled to a titanium exhaust system capable of delivering the power of 111 hp with 75 Nm of torque.
The weight was limited to 158 kg thanks to the use of various components made of lightweight material. Some of these expedients were: the aluminium tubular frame that exploits the engine as a supporting element, the single-sided swingarm in aluminium, the 17" BST carbon rims and the carbon fibre fairing.
Equipped with upside-down Öhlins forks, the Superlight had also two disc brakes produced by Brembo.
The mechanical panel is closed by a particularly advanced electronic section which included: the Ride-by-wire accelerator, traction control, anti-wheel drive, launch control, six-axis IMU inertial platform, Full LED headlights, Up & Down quick-shifter, keyless and three riding modes - Road, Race and Pro-race.
Should the bike satisfy its customers, it could be the start of a new generation of Norton super sports.
