Not Seen on WRC+ : "Savage Dave" Wallingford Crashes Ford Fiesta R5 WRC Mexico
WRC Plus / Red Bull Channel didn't show this one. "Savage Dave Rally" team gutted about crash on SS12 of WRC Mexico.
Many of the lesser known drivers of WRC are never shown, nor pictured. I for one, was surprised to see that all of the focus on WRC was on the top sponsored contenders, Loeb, Ogier, etc. No one shows the new drivers or the privateers.

Driver "Savage" Dave Wallingford and Co-Driver Leanne Junilla.
I love seeing Savage Dave Rally team. He competed at Climb to the Clouds 2017, and numerous other Rally America and American Rally Association events as well in the past few years. I could go on...
Disaster struck on Saturday, (Day 3 of 4) at WRC Rally Mexico on SS12 purportedly the same spot where another accident occurred by a premier driver a few years ago.

The accident was so big, it could be seen by one of the designated spectator areas quite a ways away. See below.

Some of the details of the accident are unknown, but we do know the helicopter was required for a medivac and they were rushed to the nearest hospital in Leon.
Two Twitter posts were found by AM.com seen below, here:
Latest news update from the driver himself, Dave Wallingford:
Facebook Update from Dave Wallingford
The good news is that both the driver and the co-driver are in good condition and we all wish them a speedy recovery. Cars are replacable, and especially in the rally discipline we understand this the most; severe crashes will never be fun nor expected. Cars can be fixed and repaired.
All the best to you, Savage Dave, and co-driver Leanne.

Hi congratulations - your post has been selected by DriveTribe Motorsport Ambassador for promotion on the DriveTribe homepage.
Wales Rally GB is probably out of the question, but will both the R5, and yourself be back and healthy for the 2019 ARA campaign??
Leanne looked strong and healthy at NEFR 2018, co-driving the RS with Timo at the helm. :)
Team O’Neil Motorsports is intending on Dave making a speedy recovery in time for 2019 ARA season.
Update: Dave Wallingford is still in the hospital but due to be released very soon.
