Official: Dodge is developing its first electric muscle car
It will be quicker than the Tesla Model S Plaid
The news that could shock all Dodge fans finally broke today. According to an unnamed source working for the American carmaker's product strategy, the first electric muscle car has already been validated by Dodge and is currently in the development phase.
The same source said that this future muscle car will be the fastest Dodge ever and that the target competitor is the latest Tesla Model S Plaid. To do this, the vehicle will have to do 0-60 in less than two seconds and certainly produce more than 1,000 PS to surpass the Californian sedan.
In order to put all the chances on its side, this future car will not be yet another version of the Challenger but an entirely new model that will take full advantage of the electric architecture. However, it is not yet known whether it will be a coupe or a sedan. A concept car prefiguring the vehicle could be presented in 2022.
