The future of Lancia under the Stellantis era is gradually taking shape. From now on under the leadership of Jean-Pierre Ploué, Lancia's styling centre should benefit from models with a very specific pencil stroke since the man comes directly from Citroën. On the product side, Automotive News today unveils the Italian manufacturer's future calendar.

Born in 2011 and still sold in Italy, the antique Ypsilon city car should be replaced in mid-2024 by a compact car probably based on the Peugeot 308. The name of the vehicle in question is not yet known, but it is possible that it will take on the iconic Delta name. What we do know is that the compact car will have both petrol and electric powertrains.

An electric city SUV based on the Peugeot 2008 is planned for 2026. Both of these vehicles have been in development since May 2021. The project for a large luxury sedan based on the DS9 is still in question. If the sales forecasts are favorable, the car should appear in 2027.

  • Exciting, I hope they are more than just the name. Maybe an Alpine competitor that is between Abarth and Alfa Romeo.

  • I'm looking forward to the sedan the most, but the hatchback should also be interesting, I'm glad they make it a bit bigger than the ridiculous Ypsilon again
