Sherco TVS' experienced campaigner Joan Pedrero improved from his Prologue's 10th position to eighth in Friday's Leg 1 in the 2017 OiLibya Rally in Morocco.

The Spaniard completed the 272.8km of competitive running from Fez to Erfoud with a total time of 3m24.59s (Prologue+Leg 1) to be eighth in the leg as well.

Meanwhile, Hero Speedbrain's Joaquim Rodrigues who finished eighth in Prologue, lost two places to be 10th in the leg and the overall standings.

The Portuguese riding the new Speedbrain 450 machinery, completed the total run in 3m29.03s. Behind, it was a close class between rest of the Sherco TVS and Hero riders.

Pedrero's teammate Adrien Metge was 14th overall, losing a total of seven places from Prologue, after finishing the leg in 12th position.

The Frenchman had incurred a three minutes penalty on his RTR 450, which resulted in such a drop - as he completed his run in 3m34.56s.

Sherco TVS' new entrant Lorenzo Sanchez Santolino, who was racing in a different category until last season, finished 16th overall.

The Spaniard also lost positions from Prologue, dropping from 12th to 16th after finishing 16th in the leg with a total time of 3m39.50s.

Just behind Santolino was Hero's CS Santosh, who made a six-place improvement from Prologue, to complete the leg in 3m40.59s.

Also, finishing inside the Top 20 in 19th was Sherco TVS' Aravind KP, the Indian making up seven places to complete the leg in 3m42.19s.
