OiLibya Rally, Leg 2: Sherco TVS, Hero riders make progress in shortened stage

The riders had to return to bivouac after organisers cancelled the run from CP1 to CP2 and finish.

The second leg in the 2017 OiLibya Rally in Morocco saw an early end after undrivable conditions forced the organisers to stop the rally after riders had crossed CP1 section.

As a result the 364.5km from Erfoud to Ergchebi was shortened, which saw Sherco TVS gain two places to be sixth overall, the lead rider from the two Indian outfits, after finishing fifth in the stage.

It was his teammate Adrien Metge, who shone in the stage finishing second which helped him to be 10th overall on his RTR 450 machinery.

Hero Speedbrain's Joaquim Rodrigues also made improvements as a 13th place finish in the stage, put him in seventh overall - just behind Pedrero.

New Sherco TVS rider Lorenzo Sanchez Santolino, who finished ninth the stage, imrpoved to 12th overall despite the one minute penalty to his name.

Among the Indian riders, Hero's CS Santosh finished 19th in the stage, just behind Sherco TVS' Aravind KP, but the overall standings has Santosh in 15th, ahead of Aravind.
