OiLibya Rally, Leg 5: Sherco TVS ends ahead of Hero, Aravind & Santosh in Top 15

The final day in the 2017 OiLIbya Rally in Morocco saw the competitors run a total of 171.68km in two divided sections of 163.03km and 8.65km respectively.

Sherco TVS' Joan Pedrero gained a place to finish the rally in fifth, with a total time of 10hr26m17s, after finishing fifth & ninth in the two sections in Stage 5.

The Spaniard managed to create a buffer between him and Hero's Joaquim Rodrigues, who was seventh overall with a time of 10hr48m18s, after a moderate run of 15th & 18th in Stage 5 sections on the Speedbrain 450.

Behind, it was a change among the Sherco TVS riders with Lorenzo Sanchez Santolino leapfrogging teammate Adrien Metge to be an impressive ninth.

Metge's 20 minutes penalty disrupted his position despite the Frenchman finishing seventh & second in the two sections, as opposed to eighth & 50th for the Spaniard.

The Frenchman's total time was 11hr00m41s to Santolino's 10hr58m19s - but together with Pedrero, they secured a triple Top 10 result for the Indo-French outfit on the RTR 450.

Among the two Indian riders, Sherco TVS' Aravind KP's move in Stage 4 helped the Chennai-born rider to keep his positive momentum as he took a 13th place finish.

Aravind's steady run of 18th & 20th in the two sections, was enough to keep him ahead of Hero's CS Santosh, who secured a 15th place finish, after being 17th in the two sections.

While Aravind completed the rally in 11hr33m34s, at the same time, with 20 minutes penalty to Santosh's time, he finished it in 11hr53m26s - both claiming their personal best results.
