Omologato teams up with Dragonspeed ahead of Le Mans 2020
This limited edition watch is worth a buy!
Omologato are on a roll right now. With successful partnerships with Zandvoort and Watkins Glen, the people behind the massive brand now add another name to that list in the form of Le Mans team DragonSpeed. The cars racing will be Dragonspeed LMP2 Oreca O7-Gibsons and will all sport the Omologato logo.
“I’m thrilled DragonSpeed that have added us as a partner for this historic race, especially given their consecutive LMP2 class wins at Daytona as well as their ELMS and WEC successes. Le Mans has long been on my bucket list, so we jumped at the opportunity when it was presented to us,” said Omologato founder Shami Kalra.
The Le Mans Dragon Chronograph will be produced to celebrate Omologato's debut at Le Mans. Only 25 of these watches will be made with the edition number etched into the caseback. Other features include Super Luminova hands and a 24-hour sub dial which mirrors the Le Mans' twice round the clock challenge. The dial will feature matt colours and a red, black and white theme with a racing inspired stripe. The strap will be made from Italian leather and will sport a red contrast-stitching in honour of Dragonspeed racing.
The new model is now a part of other event-themed Omologato watches like the Dakar Rally, East African Safari Classic Rally, Pikes Peak hillclimb, as well as the Monza and Watkins Glen chronographs.
“We are delighted to have Omologato on board as our Official Timepiece Partner for Le Mans,” said Dragon Speed team principal Elton Julian. “Shami and his team have an outstanding record of producing watches celebrating some of the sport’s most iconic races, and we look forward to sharing the unique magic of Le Mans with Omologato come September.”
