On-Board: Watch Marquez Smash The Silverstone Lap Record

1y ago

The illusive sub-2 minute lap at Silverstone, many said it was impossible on two wheels. Those people ate their words when the Baby Alien - Marc Marquez, put in the lap of his life in Qualifying session 2 at the Silverstone GP achieving a blisteringly fast 1’59.941 claiming his 71st pole position.

With Marquez's prowess in the Aragon GP free practice and qualifying, we've scoured the interwebs for videos of him doing what he does best: slaying qualifying sessions. This is seriously impressive!

The thing we find most impressive with Mr Marquez is not his incredible technique and speed. No, it's his ability to get back up from a crash (like the nasty high side in free practice) and then continues to ride with the same pace and the same attitude completely undeterred from crashes that would've deterred most riders from getting back in the saddle for the rest of their life, let alone the same day. He then gets back on the RC213V and rides it on the ragged edge with a lesson learned to achieve pole position.

Sensational attitude!
