In 1993, there was a fearsome and reputable bull named ‘Aventador’. He weighed 1,118 pounds and earnt the ‘Trofeo de la Peña La Madroñerafor’ for his courage in Spain’s Saragossa Arena. The bull was eventually slain by a matador but was epitomised for its strong, fast and aggressive demeanour. The LP 700-4 was to mirror the talents of the original Aventador. It was fearsomely fast with its direct-injection 6.5-litre V12 that produced 700PS and 509lb ft of torque. The model was also aggressive and bullish such as the gargantuan side air intakes, however each design element was both practical and necessary in order to make the Aventador a visceral driving experience. For example the air intakes were to facilitate better cooling of the engine and the rear spoiler to offer better aerodynamics. The Aventador also featured the trademark Lamborghini scissor doors making it the bedroom wall poster for every aspiring Lamborghini owner.
