O.T's best drives (2)

My second memoir of driving heaven!

5d ago

At my first job, I was tasked with transporting an event exhibit for the company I was working for. I also, unfortunately, had to give a speech, something I'm not particularly good at. The work had offered me a choice of two available vehicles. A Volvo V40, an incredibly attractive car of its time. Or, an Audi RS4 Avant. This was an easy option of course, I'd chosen the RS4 in a heartbeat.

I think this is where my love affair with the RS4 began, I've driven each generation and loved them all. But this B5 was an incredible car to drive.

With the exhibit loaded into the back, I set of on a wonderful journey through the Dales. I really felt as if I'd arrived. That car really was an experience.

As I entered the stunning countryside, I remember turning onto a glorious, if not rough asphalt/gravel track. I threw the Quattro Audi down the brilliant road and chucked it effortlessly into corners. It was one of the best moments of my life.

But, as I neared the end of my journey, traffic built up, and the Audi came into its own. In the opposite lane of a narrow road. But this performance had enough room for all the items, and I truly believe it was this car that secured my job. Because boy was I in a good mood for my speech.

And, on the way back, the RS4 continued to continue impress me on the way back to the office. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this little memoir, and I'll have more to come in the coming days and weeks!

  • My family used to have one of them! I was only like, 2 when they sold it but my dad said it was great fun to drive. His only criticism was the suspension which was really stiff.

    • Yes! It was rather uncomfortable! I bet your family liked driving it! You know a car is good when you remember it from quite a while back!
