Ever buy a model out of left field that just doesn't go with anything else with your collection? OttOmobile convinced me to buy this Mitsubishi Evo 8 after I saw just one picture. I knew it was going to be a beautiful car and difficult model to find, so I pre-ordered one upon announcement. It reminded me of the time I had an opportunity to ride in a silver Evo 8 similar to this model, which was rally prepped and modified to run on race fuel. The smell was AMAZING.

The problem is, I really don't have any other cars in my collection like it. I couldn't really display it next to the Aston Martin's and Ferrari's that currently occupy my display case. I've got other rally car models, but most of those are homogolation specials from the Group B era. Instead, it sat in its box in the corner of my office almost all summer. It was still in the same place where I left it after UPS delivered the box from Hong Kong. I finally opened it this weekend to take pictures of it, but I decided these photos would be better suited for an eBay listing. It might as well go to a collector who will really enjoy it, you know? Like I said, it is a beautiful model; it's a near perfect execution from OttOmobile. It deserves to be displayed, not kept in a box.

    • Hey, at least Maisto makes killer models for far less. Most of my models are Maisto, and I’m happy with that.

  • Yup, resins are very fragile and the glasses also are not that much good, it sometimes pop out of the frame....diecast are much more durable....

  • I had the Otto Evo for a short time but truth be told, I'm not a fan of resins, later I got a good deal on the Super A Evo and now currently I'm a proud owner of this one !

    • Nice! Is there a big difference between resin and diecast if nothing opens?
