Our favourite spots from the 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed
… quite a few of them are from the car park
Half the fun of attending a huge car show such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed is the cool stuff you spot away from the main stands and eye-grabbing on-track action.
After a Covid-enforced year off, it was great to be back in the Duke of Richmond's garden, rubbing shoulders with petrolheads and racing royalty alike.
The cars on show didn't disappoint either – so without further ado, here are our favourite spots from the 2021 Festival of Speed – a mix of big -name cars on display and some others from the car park.

We've always got time for a Vantage AMR… sadly we forgot to see if it's a manual
Step 1: Buy a Ferrari 360 Challenge race car and get it road registered. Step 2: Pick an appropriate number plate…
The new Toyota GR86 looked lovely in person – a bit of pre-facelift F-Type in there, surely?
In a random twist of fate we ended up driving this exact car a few days later – a Morgan Plus Six in Porsche Viper Green
BMW Motorrad was celebrating its R18 with a smorgasbord of customised examples…
… this one almost has kidney grilles in the headlight
This was as clear a shot as we could get of the new 911 GT3 – it was hugely popular, and looks amazing in Signal Yellow
Only at Goodwood can you see a 1904 Mercedes Simplex 60hp not just moving, but being driven quickly up a hillclimb course
We're still waiting for a price for the Ineos Grenadier, but it looks pretty cool
Look at that. Gorgeous colour combo on Lamborghini's road-legal racer
The new Boxster 25 Years Edition completely passed us by when it was announced – but we love the bronze wheels and red roof
A pair of great, British-built cars next to each other in the car park
And this is how you spec a Lotus
Actually this is also acceptable
A 600LT in this blue is just about perfect. We had to have a little sit down afterwards.
We're not 100% sold on this i8's colour scheme, but it's certainly… eye-catching. Bit of a modern classic already
Camera might have been distracted by the carbon-fibre kidney grilles and missed the real treasure… sorry
Not all the cool things were life-size – we're sorely tempted to get a Traxxas TRX-4 rock crawler for the garden…
We're not sure there's a finer colour for any car – this F-Pace SVR rocks
Ford showed off the Mach-E in GT form
Dakar legend Sam Sunderland giving it the beans on his KTM
Sorry… we had to slip a classic Porsche livery in somewhere
We'll finish with this – a very understated Lotus Emira, tucked away from the main Lotus stand in the first-glance tent
