Our Love Affair With Cars Is there a Perfect Car?
True car perfection? what are your thoughts?
The modern marvel that is the car, since its creation which can be traced back all the way to the 1800's has been loved by humans all around the world, but what makes our obsession with these machines so addictive? Many would argue that the perfect car has to be fast look like nothing on earth and made from the world's finest material's, but is this correct? For some yes for others no.
In my opinion and yes this is my opinion people might and will argue the fact that I'm wrong but to me no car is perfect. It would be impossible for a manufacturer to create such a car that is perfection in every single way it would mean that we wouldn't have such a vast array of cars that suit so many different people as there would be no need.
For me its certain aspects of a car that attracts me to them for example I drive a Toyota Starlet GT Turbo (albeit in a million pieces at the moment) its definitely no supercar by any means but I love it still the same, why you ask? Well for starters it has an element of being rarer than other cars you don't see many of them about which I like, its light and its 1.3L turbo engine is very punchy and can upset a lot of bigger and more expensive cars. Especially when they have been fettled with a bit like mine. Its currently running around 200 BHP with its weight being around 850 kg makes for a very exciting little package. It doesn’t handle like its on rails neither does it stop the best in standard form but they can easily be modified to help but this still doesn’t hinder my love for it.
This again brings me back to the original question. What is it about cars that makes them perfect to the individual then? Well that is the question that I propose to you what is it about your car that makes it special, whether it be the fact its good on fuel, its practical or for most petrol heads how they perform/look.
