Hello DriveTribers,

In the next few hours, the DriveTribe Homepage is going to change to match our recent app release. I’m really excited to show you the Web design.

First, you’ll notice the striking hero slot at the top of the page. It’s a space where we’ll promote upcoming events, display the best posts, and encourage new visitors to join the community. It's big, it's bold and it's beautiful - a chance to show off the best of DriveTribe.

Next, you’ll see that we’ve split the page into two sections. The left-hand section will show you a variety of the best Chats and Tribes for you to explore. You can toggle the right side between showing either Top Stories from across DriveTribe, or just those from the Tribes you’ve joined.

The mobile design condenses the same elements into a design that works better for that form factor. You'll still see the Hero slot, popular Tribes and Chats, and be able to toggle to see just the Posts from your Tribes.

We hope you’ll agree that with these changes, your DriveTribe homepage becomes both more useful and more attractive. So what do you like? What don’t you like? Let us know below.

  • I like the balance you have kept between new users and old users! New users are drawn to great new user content while you have not lost the old user searchabliity that old users use most often. Great job guys!

  • I'm missing a certain feature. The ability to see who's bumped a post. Can we have that back, nice please?

    • Hey John, you can still see this from the post. Click/tap on a post in the Feed, then on the word 'bump' and you'll see the list.

  • Overall, the change is great—much better to look at, and it seems to function well. Just not sure why Open Sans is there when typographically, it looks so much smarter if everything was in Uniform Condensed Sans.

    • Thanks for your feedback Jack, I'm happy you like the new layout. About the typography, we think using Open Sans for body copy is much more readable, especially when you have dyslexia or have trouble reading small letters.

    • Thanks for your reply, Hans. Open Sans won’t help with dyslexic readers: Chris MacGregor, who has designed typefaces and has dyslexia, says less familiar shapes are preferred, and some studies into dyslexics’ preferences confirm this....

  • Great work on the fresh, more cohesive, much neater new look! Just one thing. When you go to Drivetribe, the tab should automatically be set to MY FEED rather than DISCOVER. I obviously want to see what's in my feed first, which I've tuned, then if I want more, I click DISCOVER. That's how every other conceivable social media feed works.

    • The site should remember your preference so if you leave it on "My Feed" it'll stay there for next time. If that's not happening, let me know!

  • This is terrifically exciting.

    • Actually I do have a sort of related query I haven't tested it but I've been told by some of our email subscribers that visiting Drivetribe without having the app is a very difficult and annoying experience, with...
