In a world where the electric car is becoming a more and more popular choice for the everyday driver, us petrol head purists need to hang on to the image of petrol explosions inside the chambers of big, powerful engines. Even Ford have hinted that the new Mustang may be at least a hybrid. The V8 wielding muscle car? Surely not, but yes, even the pony car has caught the electric bug.
Lamborghini, oh thank God for Lamborghini and their naturally aspirated V12s. And Pagani, we bow to your naturally aspirated Mercedes engines... oh wait what? Pagani are going electric, too? Bollocks.
Yes, that's right folks. In an interview with El Tres TV, Horacio Pagani admitted that they will start to make the change to electricity and motors. He admits to having 20 engineers working on their electric future which will arrive around 2025.
So while this means their next model won't be electric, the one after that may well be. Mercedes have stated that they will still be sending their V12 unit to the company, so we hope to keep the howl of a 12-cylinder echoing through the Pagani factories for some time to come.
