Palme D’Or at Cannes won by movie about a woman being impregnated by car
No, this isn’t a joke.
Produced by filmmaker Julia Ducournau, the French film Titane is a film about a woman who had sex and becomes impregnated by a car. The film has now won the Cannes Film Festival’s top prize, the Palme d’Or.
Called Alexia, the main protagonist of the film is a woman who survives a car crash during her childhood; giving her a unique relationship with cars. After having brain surgery, Alexia walks up to a car and starts to hug and kiss it. She then has sex with the vehicle and soon becomes pregnant. Alexia also starts lactating black oil.
It’s safe to call Titane a unique film, one which packs a lot of events into a singular movie. However, many are questioning whether it is deserving of the award it received.
