PARKING INSPECTOR SCAM! A little while ago, I recorded this rather strange video clip of a parking officer leaving a ticket on my R35 GTR, taking a photo of it, then removing it..

Months later I received an infringement in the mail PLUS a fine for not having paid by the due date. In Australia, they need no proof to have actually issued you a ticket aside from the photograph of the ticket on your windshield (which he took, then minutes later removed).

In the end the fine was nearly TRIPLE what it should have been.. Luckily we had a dash cam recording the entire ordeal, so we contested the fine.. Seems to be a pretty damn sneaky way to revenue raise!

Note: For those that asked why I looked at the footage in the first place to find this snippet (as I never had the ticket in my possession) - reason being, I had found what looked like blood on the hood of the car and I went through the video looking for what happened, and spotted this weird anomaly and recorded it for later reference).

  • Probably just dirty there’s a r35 in a loading zone probably on a weekend and at the end of the shift he has to jump on the night bus...probably thinks if you own a r35 and you park in a loading zone you could afford a fine or two.

  • I wonder what camera he used and where I could buy it... If only he mentioned it in the video...

  • You say this is in Australia?? If (in NSW) you do not pay a parking fine within a certain period ( ticket blew away, etc etc etc) you then get a penalty reminder notice sent to the address of the registered vehicle and that fine is exactly the same as the original fine..... if you then miss this letter a bright red one comes out still same fine..... if you some how miss this one then you receive another letter and yes the fine increases by $65.... Thanks for showing this as reminded me to pay my parking fine.

    • this happened in brisbane,QLD. The number in front gives it away. Its on the corner of elizabeth and george street. The GTR is parked in a loading bay as well.

  • Why would anyone do something like this? The money is going to the government anyway, he's got nothing to gain?
