Today, Red Bull Racing has released their all-new 2021 Formula 1 car, the RB16B. Many of the Formula 1 car launches so far have caused some disputes and debates among many Formula 1 fans. Fans have expressed that the cars "look the same" is the "same from last year" or that they are "boring". Although, 2021 is not supposed to be any different from the 2020 cars. 2021 is a year to merge upgrades together in the new cars and to figure out the new changes for the next year. It is a year the teams will be learning new components, upgrading the cars aerodynamically and technologically. The cars aren't supposed to look different, the only upgrades made were to the car itself.

Upgrades include the new floor, new noses, and some new cars have modified front wings as well. The teams that will include a livery change will be Aston Martin since this is their first year in Formula 1 since 1959, along with Alpine's team change. Even though fans are disappointed, there were not a lot of expectations in the first place. 2022 will be the year Formula 1 will change into a new era, that is when fans should expect more from the teams and cars.

The new RB16B is set to be an extensively reengineered and upgraded car, Red Bull is aiming high to fight with Mercedes for the top spot. Red Bull is already in the likes of the top three teams. Yet, with a further modified car, Red Bull could have a chance to take the championship away from Mercedes this year. In spite of the fact, that it looks very similar to last year's car, the RB16B has many technological differences intergraded into the car.

The nose itself is much narrower than last year's car. The side-pods have been reshaped as well giving it a more aggressive look while helping it generate more rear downforce. With a strong new and improved lineup of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, Red Bull can be a significant contender towards Mercedes.

We will see how the RB16B will perform after winter testing...

Along with the car launch, Checo Perez was able to test with Red Bull in the previous RB15 at Silverstone today. Checo was trying to get with grips in the Red Bull during a cold day at the Silverstone track. Joining a new team and having to get used to new ways and methods is a difficult task. Although, Sergio has adapted easily and has worked hard with his new team to learn and process Red Bull. Perez has also revealed his new lid and Red Bull helmet for the 2021 season. It is evident that Checo is ready for the 2021 season and ready to get back on the grid again.

Sergio 'Checo' Perez explained how enthusiastic he is on his move to Red Bull...

“It’s a fantastic brand. Of all the teams in Formula One, I thought there was no chance for me to join it because I wasn’t part of the junior program, but when the opportunity came I took it. It’s a dream come true. When I put my Red Bull shirt on or drink a can, I think ‘wow, this is the brand I drive for!" Expounded Checo.

  • Niiiice, I think I'm happiest for Vettel and Perez this year. Especially given how Perez seems to speak like this is the team he aspired to. But Alpine too are technically introducing a new livery given this is their first year like AM right??

  • Very well done article, I feel like with Scuderia AlphaTauri, Alfa Romeo Orlen Racing and Mclaren changing their designs either minorly or majorly, people expect ALL the teams to have completely new liveries yet realistically major teams don’t change their liveries until a new era arrives like Ferrari switching arrives like mclaren switch from chrome to the papaya orange to signify a new era for the team, Only reason ferrari switched from the glossy red to the matte is “purely performance reasons”.
