Philippines destroys a brand new McLaren 620R and six other luxury cars

Try not to cry

To show the world that fraud is bad, the Philippine authorities are indulging in a curious pastime worthy of a horror film for car enthusiasts. Equipped with excavators and bulldozers, a group of employees destroy luxury cars illegally imported into the country.

The whole scene is filmed and broadcast on the country's major television channels. Obviously, you have to have a strong heart to see such things, especially since their latest find includes a brand new McLaren 620R. All these vehicles were seized between 2018 and 2020.

The British supercar wasn't the only one to suffer such a fate, as it was surrounded by six other companions in misfortune on Friday 18 June. These included a Mercedes SLK, a Porsche 911, a Bentley Continental Flying Spur, a Lotus Elise, a Hyundai Genesis Coupe and a Toyota Solara.

  • Well . . this is plain stupid. Instead of selling them and making some money for the struggling people (because there are many in the Philippines)... 😑🀬

  • Why not just sell it and take the cash for the country?

    • Hey, that may be a poor country, but that's MY poor country.

But yeah, these officials are blithering idiots and a growing number of us want them out of their posts.

  • To help their economy why don't they just sell the cars to people abroad so the scammers can't buy them back?

    • That can actually work. Maybe exporting them to places such as Europe or North America might be a good idea
