I think he just likes to get away from all the tech in his down time. And what a way to do it.
Slightly embarrassing for Herr Anscheidt then ? His real ( though covert...until now, anyway) preference is for a vehicle in continuous development since production in '63...as opposed to the original Bugatti which makes Lotus look like an industrial icon....😉
