This is the Suzuki Vitara - the fourth generation of Suzuki's long standing 'soft-roader'. When the original Suzuki Vitara launched in 1988, it was essentially in a class of one, yet these days the compact crossover competes against formidable rivals in the shape of the Nissan Juke, Opel Mokka X, Renault Captur, Ford EcoSport and Fiat 500X to name just a few. For starters, it is available with either two-wheel drive or Suzuki’s electrically operated AllGrip four-wheel drive system. South African Vitara's are only available with an efficient 1.6-litre petrol motor that produces 86kw/151nm and averages around 7L/100kms. There are also manual and automatic gearboxes on offer. The Vitara comes with seven airbags as standard, including one to protect the driver’s knees, helping it to score a maximum five stars in the new, tougher 2015 Euro NCAP crash safety test. Suzuki SA's extremely likable Vitara retails from R271 900. #TunedAutomotive #SomeShitAboutCars
