Following his tariffs on aluminium and steel imports into the US, President Trump threatened to 'apply a tax' on items imported from the EU, including cars, in order to compensate for 'unfair' and 'very stupid' trade deals.
The EU has responded by threatening to apply taxes on US goods imported into Europe in the same way. Items that could be affected include whiskey, clothes, cosmetics... And Harley-Davidsons.
The iconic American motorcycle brand is one of 100 US goods on a 'target list' drawn up by the EU, worth up to €2.8bn ($3.5bn, £2.5bn).
Whether or not this will actually go ahead depends on two things - whether or not Trump calls the EU's bluff and follows through on his threats to tax EU imports in the US, and whether or not the EU goes ahead with their retaliatory charges. Only time will tell.
