The Polaris Slingshot is a very special three-wheeled vehicle, halfway between a car and a motorcycle. Some countries consider it to be a motorcycle, while others require a car driving licence to drive one. The Slingshot was released in 2015 and has since received some minor modifications.
Some tuners have even decided to spice up the Slingshot by replacing its original General Motors 2.4L gasoline with a Toyota Supra in-line six. Sensations guaranteed! Now, and it's official, a new generation of Slingshot will be released shortly. A teaser allows us to appreciate the future vehicle.
The very short video shows us only the front of the new Slingshot, in total darkness. It still lets us admire the new front lights of the vehicle, which will abandon the round headlights for a more modern LED signature. The bodywork shouldn't change too much, although some panels may change shape slightly.
The new Slingshot may be powered by a new, more powerful engine. Among the possibilities is the arrival of the 2.0L turbocharged 275 hp from the Chevrolet Camaro. Also under consideration is a transmission change with the arrival of a new six-speed manual transmission. The new Polaris Slingshot will be introduced on January 14, 2020.
