Police Seize Lamborghini Aventador SV In Slough For Driving "Anti-Socially"

That's an expensive car to be impounded!

3y ago

Thames Valley Police in Slough uploaded these images of a white Lamborghini Aventador SV on their twitter feed. Police seized the vehicle after stating that it was being driven 'anti-socially' in the town centre.

The 750-4 SV is powered by a 6.5L V12 engine, producing 740BHP, a 0-60MPH time of 2.8 seconds and a top speed in excess of 217MPH. The Police's first tweet stated "people with money often think they are above the law". They seized the vehicle under Section 59, which relates to vehicles being used in a manner that causes alarm, distress or annoyance.

Police then uploaded another tweet of the same Lamborghini being loaded onto a tow-truck to be taken away. A hefty bill for the owner of this Aventador! The police didn't comment on the front number plate missing though!

  • I don't know, I generally prefer to see such cars driven "antisocially."

  • Section 59 is an odious piece of legislation. There is little burden of proof and no ability to counter it, two strikes and your car is impounded. A colleague was sent one for accelerating away from lights to 30 because his Maserati GT was loud. It was the middle of the afternoon on a weekday, the car had a stock exhaust and was not in sports mode. The speed limit was not broken.
