Yep, you read that right, the universal symbols of automotive badassery are once again adorning a car, and an Italian supercar no less. Specifically the ARES Panther, an homage to the classic 1970s DeTomaso Pantera and based on a Lamborghini Huracan. Phwoar.
These are all good words - Panther, Pantera, Huracan, and the goodness doesn’t stop there. You see, the Panther is more than just a retro pastiche of the old Pantera. The Lamborghini V10 has been upped from 5.2-litres to 5.6 with a jump in power from 602 to 650hp with 413Ib ft of torque. In fact the whole car is said to be sharper and faster than the Lambo on which it's based. Not that you actually care about that, of course. Because, like me, all you can think about is those pop-up headlights. Pop. Up. Headlights. Hell yes.
Prices will start at just over £460,000 and only 21 will be built, so you need to be rich and quick to get that pop-up feeling.
