Yes, we all know the story about how this is the first water cooled 911, it has a sub-par interior, and the IMS bearing is a ticking time bomb, but in side- and rear profile, it's undeniably a gorgeous car, and especially in the facelifted version, the derogatorily named "fried egg" headlights are really not that bad.

So let's all just lay off the poor 996 for a moment and appreciate her for what she is: a fantastic driver's car, a pivotal moment in the development of the 911, and, in my eyes, just plain pretty.

Just don't start any hype yet that'll drive up the prices before I get to buy one please!! I'll take a silver C2S please and thank you!
