Porsche and Puma Team Up for Limited Edition 911 Turbo Sneaker

F​or nearly half a century, the Porsche 911 Turbo has been the benchmark for sports cars. To commemorate the 911 Turbo's 45th anniversary, Bavarian fashion company Puma has accepted Porsche's offer for an exclusive collaboration sneaker series highlighting each generation of this automotive icon.

A special edition Puma shoe will be designed for each generation of the 911 Turbo from the first generation 930 Turbo all the way up to the new 992 Turbo. Puma designed one each for the air-cooled and water-cooled eras of the Turbo.

"Our '70's inspired Future Rider (shoe) silhouette perfectly captures the historic era of the air-cooled Porsche 911 sports car, while the Speedcat is a true race-inspired style capturing the slick lines of the water-cooled generations of 911," according to Head of Business Unit Marketing for Puma Motorsport Anja Enja Egger.

If you are interested in purchasing one of these sneakers, you have to act fast. The Porsche Design website has a countdown clock showing how much time is left to order a pair of the new kicks. Once the clock hits zero you will only have 2.7 seconds, or the 0-60 time of the new 992 Turbo, to add a pair to your cart. If I had my choice, I'd go for the 996-inspired Speedcat.
