British drivers' in Porsches at Le Mans have a pretty good record. First up there was Dickie Attwood winning in the sublime Salzburg Porsche 917 in 1970. Then Derek Bell, winning in 1981, 1982, 1986 and 1987 most famously in the Rothmans 956. And most recently there's local-boy (to us) Nick Tandy who won in 2015 driving the 919 Hybrid.

Porsche GB have created a series of special edition Porsche 911 Carrera 4S models that celebrate these wins, designed in conjunction with the drivers themselves! First up, just look at the Guards Red 'Salzburg' design. Looks fabulous. These are standard GTS models with a series of special touches to include:

Rear axle steering, Sport PASM including Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, badge on B-Pillar with Union Jack and driver signature, special carbon door sill guards illuminated in exterior colour, dashboard in carbon with same motif, alcantara interior, 12 o'clock steering wheel marker, special embossing of alcantara interior, etc. Some nice details.

The Sapphire Blue GTS is reserved for the Derek Bell 'Rothmans' car with lovely white, gold and red decals on the side, proudly wearing the No.1. I don't like blue cars much, but this looks great. And any car that is influenced by the mighty 956 is alright in our books.

The third car in the set in the Nick Tandy 'Hybrid' in Carrara White. Possibly the least exciting to look at (as with the race car too?!), this GTS does have the nice details inside but the stripe on the side is quite minimal. Shame. This could've worked better with a little more thought I think.

The 911 Carrera 4 GTS British Legends Edition is on sale from today and priced as follows:

Guards Red 'Salzburg' is £122,376.00 incl. VAT. Sapphire Blue 'Rothmans' and Carrara White 'Hybrid' cars are priced the same at £123,210.00 incl. VAT.
