Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East
Round 1 - bahrain international circuit, supporting the WEC final
So, my first middle eastern expedition found me shooting at the epic Bahrain International Circuit and what a track it is. Despite the lack of access for spectators besides the impressive grandstands. The circuit is stunning, it creates almost Bond-esque settings with gold lighting on exposed rock in the evening, all we were missing was a 7 foot giant with metal teeth!
It was a hard fought race weekend with my client competing for his first time in a Porsche Cup car and his first weekend at Bahrain so a monumental task. Every lap was an improvement, each lap quicker than the previous
We enjoyed two races before the start of the final WEC race of 2016, the first being at night under the amazing array of lights that covered the circuit. Our UK driver and previous British GT pro-driver to Rick Parfitt Jnr, Tom Oliphant took the top step of the first race at night in spectacular fashion.
With a new race winner for race 2, the championship is wide open. The weekend was completed by the final of the World Endurance Championship (gallery to follow) and continues in Dubai so stay posted for more sunny shots!
