Porsche confirms four car works entry for Le Mans 2019
On Saturday night during Porsche's “Night of Champions” awards dinner in Weissach the company confirmed that it will defend its GTE-Pro class title at the 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans with a four car works effort.
Porsche confirmed that it will maintain its contingent of four Porsche 911 RSR entries for Le Mans in 2019 with an almost unchanged driver lineup. In total, 24 drivers between the factory, Young Professional and Junior driver programs are lined up to compete in 2019.
It was also confirmed that Fritz Enzinger will now assume the overall head of motorsport role at Porsche from January 2019, overseeing its Formula E and GT factory racing efforts. In late 2019, Porsche will make its Formula E debut, for the electric championship's sixth season.
