Porsche could make a 911 Safari suited for off-roading
The 911 will get higher!
Faced with the SUV wave, all brands are forced to adapt by developing new models. This is the case of Porsche who did a great move in 2002 by launching the Cayenne which was going to be a huge success. The SUV then saw the arrival of a little brother in 2014, the Macan.
Today, the German brand still intends to diversify its range of raised vehicles with a possible 911 Safari. A curious prototype has indeed been spotted near Porsche's headquarters in Weissach. The vehicle adopted many of the attributes of an SUV.
For example, the ground clearance was raised and the wheel arches were widened to accommodate the new tyres, which are more suitable for off-road use. In fact, it was these new tyres that were seen on the prototype, with surprisingly high sidewalls. The vehicle would also receive a completely revised suspension system.
All of these elements could well confirm the development of a new 911 Safari, especially since Porsche had already presented a concept based on the same idea, the 911 Vision Safari Concept. If confirmed, the vehicle in question will be presented in 2021 or 2022.
