Porsche Taycan Artcar Heads to Auction for charity
RM Sotheby's will auction off this wrapped Taycan to support Swiss artists
Porsche Schweiz AG and RM Sotheby’s have teamed up to auction off a 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S for charity. The auction will support artists who have been impacted by the Covid 19 pandemic. All proceeds of the sale will be donated to Suisseculture Sociale, a non-profit organization based in Switzerland. RM Sotheby's will not charge a buyer's premium for the auction, which will be offered without reserve.
The car is wrapped in a stunning livery of American artist Richard Phillips's 'Queen of the Night' painting. Porsche Schweiz CEO Michael Glinski was quoted on RM Sotheby's website stating the painting "reflects the guiding principles of sustainability and electromobility and of course also places a strong focus on nature in Switzerland". RM Sotheby's will host the auction online between April 6th and 13th, selling the Taycan as the exclusive lot in this sale.
I'm kind of bummed that the Taycan is wrapped and not hand-painted, but it's an Artcar I can respect nonetheless. The only other Porsche "Artcar" I can think of is Janice Joplin's, which obviously wasn't a factory paint job.
