The Weissach pack is an option offered by Porsche for its most sporty models. This one was inaugurated on the Porsche 918 Spyder then was proposed on the last 911 GT2 RS and, more recently, on the GT3 RS. This pack makes it possible to reduce the weight of the models in question thanks to the use of lighter materials. To take the example of the GT2 RS equipped with the pack Weissach, it loses 18 kilos on the balance thanks to a hood and a carbon roof apparent, a safety cell made of titanium inside, or stabilizing bars and carbon front and rear tie rods.

In an interview with our colleagues at Digital Trends, Andreas Preuninger, head of development of Porsche GT models, confirmed that offering this pack on other models in the range would also make sense. This could have utility on smaller models, why not the future 718 Boxster Spyder and Cayman GT4.

"I think that today, gaining weight on all models, whatever it may be, makes sense.A light car is always more fun to drive and consumes less energy, it's a physical rule. does not exclude that packages designed to lighten other models in our range find their way into our catalog in the future, "explains Andreas Preuninger. "We have nothing set for the moment and we are very busy, so do not expect to see a Cayenne equipped with the Weissach pack next month," he says.
