After the skyscrapers of New York City, the East London’s historic docklands form the next backdrop for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Races 12 and 13 of the 2021 season will be held on 24 and 25 July alongside the River Thames with a spectacular street circuit that, in a world first for top-flight motorsport, is partially indoors.

The circuit's 2.25km length features 22 corners and traverses a concrete floor inside the ExCel Arena that has received a special surface treatment to improve grip.

Porsche enjoyed its best team result to date in New York and its two 99X Electric will line up on the ExCeL Track in confident mood. “We’ll continue to put pressure on the frontrunner,” says Amiel Lindesay, Head of Operations Formula E. “After the improvement in our race performance recently, we’re now eager for our first win.”

The unprecedented new circuit will offer a series of challenges to all 12 teams, with every driver needing to make adjustments to both strategy and driving style. It’s 2.25km length features 22 corners and traverses a concrete floor inside the ExCel Arena that has received a special surface treatment to improve grip.

“Everything we’ve heard about the course makes us very curious,” says André Lotterer. “I’m still wondering whether the air conditioning in the hall will be on if it’s hot outside. And what happens if it rains? Formula E is always good for surprises. But whatever comes, as always, we’re well prepared.”

Qualifying for the race begins at 11:00 CEST on Saturday with Race 12 schedule for just after 15:00 that same day. Race 13 sees qualifying begin at 10:00 on Sunday morning before the main race 14:04. Find out how to watch the race here: www.fiaformulae.com/watch/ways-to-watch.
