Mimms Honda day hosted a Christmas Special recently. Within the cast of Hondas - Two fifth generation Preludes.
The Phoenix Yellow
The first a JDM SiR S Spec. More powerful than its UK counterpart boasting 217BHP from a normally aspirated H22A 2.2 VTEC. Add some limited slip differential and this Lude is quite formidable.
The Ficus Green
The second is an OEM Motegi. This particular variant a tweaked version of the UK VTi model, alongside the signature four wheel steer came 15 more BHP, more aggression in the gearing and a lower ride.
If you've happened upon this old article:
Then you'll realise I am rather partial to the Honda Prelude, (read that as obsessive). Though my output is small you can usually rely on me to inject a Lude into the article, (frequently my own). And this small piece is yet another blatant piece of Prelude propaganda.
So here we are again, and another small tribute to the Honda Prelude, in particular the visuals of the car:
The classic, 'All I Need' by Air overlays a 4min video showcasing the two Hondas.
The fifth generation Prelude was released in 1996 and wasn't exactly appreciated upon release. Even today those owning a fourth generation Prelude regard the fifth and last iteration to be the work of Satan. For a long time I missed my previous fourth generation - Appreciating the fifth took time.
Preludes, whatever the generation, have aged well. And if you prefer photo to video, here's a selection of Prelude imagery from Mimms Honda - Christmas Special, 2018:
The Prelude does boast an ample rear.
My what big eyes you have.
The heart of the Motegi, the H22A8 - 197BHP
More rear action.
Honeycomb grille on the JDM Lude.
Motegi wheels and distinctive rear light cluster.
Mimms returns on the 31st of March, 2019 at Santa Pod Raceway, as will the Preludes.

Thank you so much for indulging my Prelude passion, as for the video, clearly a work in progress, (classic tune though).
