On May 7, 1967, Prince Rainier III had the honor of driving the Lamborghini Marzal to Monaco, just before the start of the Formula 1 Grand Prix. Fifty-one years later, his son Prince Albert II took his tour the steering wheel of the Italian concept in the streets of the principality and carries out the same course, with by his side his nephew Andrea Casiraghi. Organized with the help of the Lamborghini Polo Storico, the parade took place on the sidelines of the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique (11-13 May). Lamborghini also exhibited on this occasion a Espada, to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of this model strongly inspired by the Marzal concept.

The Lamborghini Marzal is a unique vehicle presented at the Geneva Motor Show 1967. It is the work of Bertone, and more precisely the famous Marcello Gandini. The Italian designer had given free rein to his imagination, as evidenced by the bold glass butterfly doors and the strange louver in the back.

The Marzal embeds a 175-hp 2.0-liter six-cylinder engine developed from the Miura V12. Mounted in the rear transverse position, this unique engine is associated with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

In 2011, the Marzal was sold to a private collector, who did not hesitate to pay 1 521 000 euros to acquire it. It was later restored by Lamborghini at the request of its new owner.
