Racing Week April 6-8

Racing season 2018 slowly started with early races from IMSA ( Daytona and following with Sebring ), WRC which starts also traditionaly at the beginning of the year with Rally Monte Carlo. Formula One, IndyCar and MotoGP also had their initial races done. However these all are still first steps in new season and to follow up, more is coming this weekend.

All these ( except of IMSA ) series have upcoming rounds, plus four series are about to start and there is one prologue. Well lets wrap it up with a few paragraphs and with full TimeTable for this weekend ( shared in the sheet at the end of article ).

F1 - 2nd Round - GP Bahrain

??? before GP : After win by Vettel and Ferrari over Hamilton, which happend behind VSC, there is question, how will Ferrari perform on different and significantly quicker track. McLaren performance after new parts installed on car. Can be Haas dominant again within teams from 3-4th place down. Will find RBR its speed or it will be same story again as during previous years with begining of the season and lack of pace. What to expect from Renault, and how deep are problems of Sauber, STR, Williams and FI ? Where to Watch --> for countries with support of the new F1 stream and as usual on paid TVs.

Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup - 1st Round in Zolder ( 2 Races )

??? before GP : Lamborghini is defending overall title, Audi in Sprint Cup. Last year in Zolder brought dominance of teams with Audi machines ( WRT ). Can this time be different and can be somebody quicker ? Where to Watch --> www.blancpain-gt-series.com/watch-live

FIA WEC - Prologue Paul Ricard

??? before GP : New LMP1 non-hybrid cars have one target - can they pursue and possibly catch Toyota hybrid ? Can they match Toyota`s pace and speed. There will be plenty of engines, chassis and hopefuly interesting soundtrack as a bonus. Within GT class there we are welcoming BMW M8 GTE which have had premiere in IMSA Championships in Daytona and Sebring. New contenders are from Aston Martin and Ferrari just showed evolution of their 488GTE. Will LMP2 cars be even quicker than their blistering speed from previous season. And to GTE-AM category are coming last years mid-engined 911s. Action is 8 hours in Saturday and 7 hours in Sunday. However a few teams are going to try a 30 hours simulation, including night testing. Unfortunately I was not able to find any stream, most probably this event will be as testing of F1 only with live timing.

MotoGP - 2nd Round - GP Argentina

??? before GP : Johann Zarco and his satellite Yamah, can they be once more as quick as previously in Qatar and possibly keep the position in race ? Will be Dovizioso quicker again than his teammate and can Marquez win. Can Maverick find his pace from beginning of last season and when will his teammate Rossi win ? What about KTM and their performance, will they take any points and/or good points already in Argentina ? Where to Watch --> there should be MotoGP paid stream, but also as usual classic TV Coverage.

FIA WTCR - 1-3rd Round - Morocco

??? before GP : basically start of old/new motorsport series, created by merge of TCR and WTCC, with car regulations taken from less expensive TCR series. Interesting might be to watch if Honda and VW will be quick again or there is enough of competition in the field. There will be lot of action as weekend format has changed slightly and we can watch alltogether three races, one in Saturday and two in Sunday. Where to Watch --> Eurosport should have some coverage and there should be youtube stream www.youtube.com/channel/UC_hyZEj1aRrbDkbWnKWekZA

GT4 European Series - 1st Round - Zolder ( 2 races )

??? before GP : more and more popular GT4 cars, for their performance and affordable value. The field consists of 44 cars from 10 different makers ( full entry list in the summary file at the end of article ). For the first time GT4 Euro has joined forces with Blancpain GT Series and copying its calendar as support race. With full one hour race on both weekend days. Where to Watch --> european.gt4series.com/live/

IndyCar - 2nd Round - GP Phoeinx ( 250 Laps )

??? before GP : New machines are in IndyCar since this season. Version for racetracks we saw in Florida last month, now we should see new versions with low drag for oval racing. This is the first oval race this season. Last race on "classic" race track in St. Petersburg was thriller totally to the end, specially with a few manouvers in the last corners by Wickens and Rossi and win by Bourdais. Question is will there be thriller once more ? I bet on one. Also interesting to watch is performance of Chevy engines, if they can rise and compete with Hondas. Where to Watch --> stream on YouTube channel : www.youtube.com/user/indycars/featured or your TV coverage.

WRC - 4th Round - Tour de Corse ( FRA )

??? before GP : After Mexico, Ogier is back in business and in the mood for winning. Who be main competitor for him on asphalt roads of Corsica ? Hyundai is hungry after swedish 1-3, but they are consolidating themselves after huge crash during recent testing. Toyota has very quick trio and we cannot forgot that behing the wheel of Citroen will be again Mr. Loeb. All answers this weekend starting Friday 09:50 local time. Where to Watch --> paid wrcplus or TV coverage

SuperGT - 1st Round - Okayama 300Km ( 82 Laps )

??? before GP : First round of new season for SuperGT will see inovated, updated and brand new cars such as new Nismo GT3 and NSX GT3 in GT300 category. In GT500 of course updated but with oldschool machines as NSX-GT, GT-R and Lexus LC500 beast from last year. Where to Watch --> stream from Nismo.TV on : www.youtube.com/user/nismotv2013/featured

In the sheet you can find entry list for each series with first race and current standings for ongoing series ( I tried to put it into the article as images, but it turned out as a one huge mess ).
