Raid Area 51 in this Red Bull Mini Cooper
You can also take it to Home Depot, run the BAJA 500, and survive the zombie apocalypse with it...
At the height of the new Mini Cooper's popularity, Red Bull commissioned a fleet of promotional vehicles. These Mini's were set up with pickup beds in the back and a giant cooler in the shape of a Red Bull can on the back of the adorable UTE. These coolers were full of free Red Bull to hand out to passer-bys at events or just randomly on the street. Some of these promotional Mini's were sold to the public when it was time they were sent out to pasture. This one just so happened to end up in the hands of a mad scientist who transformed this little guy into a beast!
One of my favorite accounts to follow on Instagram is @cool.craigslist.cars, which if you haven't guessed already is dedicated to scouring the best and coolest finds for sale on Craigslist. I was immediately captivated by this little monster and looked it up on CL.
To make this Mini more of a "truck", the seller lifted the suspension and gave the Coop' steel tube bumpers, a set of skid plates, and beefy off-road tires. It was also outfitted with rally lights, a roof rack, spare tire carrier, and a custom built truck bed that lifts for additional storage below. A custom "Mini" tailgate will tell everyone in your wake what's up. The engine was given a onceover to make it runs in tip-top shape, plus it had a custom exhaust bolted on. Unfortunately the car retains its automatic transmission, which makes sense since it lived its previous life as a billboard on wheels with lots of different drivers. It is also still a FWD vehicle, so don't plan on taking it too far off the road.
So please, someone buy this before I do and put me out of my misery. You can find it here on Craigslist in Irvine California listed for $11,500. That might sound expensive for a twelve year old Mini Cooper, but try recreating this for that price! Not to mention, these Red Bull Mini's will most certainly be future classics.
