Rallycross returns to the USA this weekend
Nitro Rallycross fills the rallycross void the last few years with its opening with its opening events in Salt Lake City.
Rallycross fans haven't had a series to tune to in years. The last well known series went defunct after not paying bills (Global Rallycross "GRC"), the series that followed just disappeared one day (Americas Rallycross "ARX"), and a global pandemic didn't help things. All that gets remedied this weekend for the inaugural events this Sept. 24-25 at the Utah Motorsports Campus in Salt Lake City, Utah.
A few days out from the event starting and it was announced that ex-Formula Drift Champion and ex-Rallycross Champion Tanner Foust was joining the field to compete. He will join names such as Nitro Rallycross founder Travis Pastrana, Scott Speed, Andreas Bakkerud, and Steve Arpin.
“I couldn’t be more excited to kick off our first season. 120-foot gap jumps, exciting courses and new formats to challenge the drivers and thrill fans both at the track and watching from home.” says Pastrana, “The depth of this field is incredible and the competition is going to be intense. Every driver is capable of taking the crown as series champion. I can’t wait to get on the track, and we can’t wait for fans worldwide to see it.”
