C4 last? Don't know your 'vette history. The C3 was long in the tooth and had devolved into a boulevardier. All show, no go. C4 came a long and re-established the 'vette as a bargain supercar, outperforming Ferraris for a fraction of the cost. Not a huge Corvette fan, but I give credit where it's due.
I like the C2 the best. I’ve owned two of the C3’s. I might’ve ranked the C8 higher than 6th but it doesn’t come with a manual. The rest, I am sure, are fine but they don’t really appeal to me.

C3 -Smack dab from the mid 70's, my Corvette would be orange. I don't care if they had no power.
C2 -A nice 327 coupe would be just fine.
C1 -I love the 61/62's!
C4 -An earlier one. In silver. I thought they looked really cool when they first came out.

C8 -Meh. It's the least Corvette-like out of all of them, in my opinion.

well I have a feeling that most people are rating them by looks and most people dont really like the C4 in terms of looks but the C4 is a great car
And here I thought things from the '80's were so "in"
