Remember When Clarkson Proved Why an Evo is Better Than a Lambo
Two AWD Titans clash on Top Gear's Test Track.
Everyone loves an underdog and as Jeremy Clarkson proves in this clip from Top Gear, most of the time the underdog wins. Back in the early days of Top Gear Jeremy and the gang did some pretty wild stuff and this seemingly tame review turned out to be a personal favorite of mine.
The review is classic Jeremy using clever hyperbole and his bombastic personality to review the UK only EVO FQ400. In his highly biased reivew he douses the FQ400 with a fire hose of love and praise.
To prove he's not lying Jeremy came up up with a clever challenge. He'd take on a Lamborghini Mercielago that Jeremy was quick to point out, has 3 times the cylinders, more horsepower, and costs way more than the lowly FQ400.
To further up the stakes, the Lambo was driven by British Touring Car Champion James Kaye, a man who knows his way around a racetrack. All Jeremy had to do was keep up to an Italian supercar driven by a touring car champ while driving a little Mitsubishi sedan, how hard could it be?

A fantastic episode
Classic Clarkson at his best!
Brilliant episode shame the funny part wasn't shown. Showing the evo's shocking turbo lag by racing a fiat stilo and losing and him constantly stalling 😂😂
This episode was the reason I bought my EVO IX. Timeless!
Hahah I have a few listings queued up already!
That was one of the best car reviews on tg
He really whipped that evo around
Great episode
Makes me miss the good ole
Days and the Evo
