The 80 million euros renovation work at Circuit Spa-Francorchamps has kick-started already, as Autodromo Monza becomes vaccination center.

Last year, the owners of the Spa-Francorchamps circuit announced a 80 million renovation programme, to be completed by 2022. The idea behind the work is to help the track to host the 24 hours of Motorcycle racing and make it a viable option for MotoGP too.

This also helps in circuit upgradation for F1 and its feeder series', especially after the fatal incident in 2019. The renovation will see gravel traps and run-off expansion in corners like  La Source, Raidillon, Blanchimont, Les Combes and Stavelot.

Additional changes include a completely reimagined grandstand at the foot of Eau Rogue, and a brand new one atop Raidillon. These grandstands, together with new VIP suites, is aimed to improve the circuit’s permanent seating capacity by 13,000.

The work at Spa comes amid renovation programme at Albert Park circuit too, albeit, the former includes layout changes too with corner reprofiling. The Belgian track, though, is looking more at overall upgradation of facility, rather than changing the circuit.

Here's handful of photos from Spa of the ongoing work - they uploaded a model last year of the said changes too plus gave a point-wise snap shot:
