Reports confirm James Bond is going electric
James Bond is perhaps one of the most loved, longest running movie franchises there is. As the world moves into an inevitable electric future, it’s only right that our beloved Bond does so too.
The upcoming film, that we now know has been given the working title of ‘Shatterhand’, will be directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga who is said to be ”an absolute treehugger”. It has also been said that the studio heads are pushing for the British spy to be a bit more eco-friendly.
In a recent interview a source told The Sun that the decision to give Bond an electric car in his movie was made by Fukunaga. To fans of the franchise this shouldn’t really come as a surprise, with characters like Q always coming up with new gadgets an electric car is the obvious next step as technology improves.
The car that will be used is said to be the limited edition Aston Martin Rapide E, the manufacturers first ever electric vehicle. It has been reported that only 155 will be built and they will cost a meaty £250,000 to purchase. In ‘Shatterhand’ the Rapide E is rumoured to play a big part in an ‘incredible action sequence‘.
There‘s no doubt the car will be presented to Bond by his trusty nerd, Q and it will more than likely come with a vast array of high tech gadgetry for him to put to good use.
